Jammin'Oh we'll be jammin' in the kitchen, an' jammin' in the halls, and if we get some on our fingers ... err, nevermind! There'll be lots of jamming time throughout the weekend. In addition to the informal session, there will be a beginner's jam Friday and Saturday evenings. And this year, thanks to an amazing amount of work by one of our friends, we can offer a tune "book". Click here for the Spring Fling tune book files (Note: This is a large zip file (approx. 2Mb). This zip file contains the following (Note: You can select each of the following items separately if you want to download the tune book in smaller chunks): 1) SFRTunes.pdf file: The tunes are printed one per page so that a user can print out only those they wish. There is an occasional slip into Bass Clef about which I can do nothing. I hope it doesn't inconvenience anyone. 2) NoBackupMIDIs zip file: Set for a sort of reasonable learning tempo; about between slow and the right speed. Some are set to play with stresses similar to how some folks would actually play the tunes. Repeat the tune 12 times, but just as they appear on the page. The do not take into consideration things like introductions, or instructions to play the tune ABAC. BE CAREFUL of this so you don't get the tune in your head the wrong way. 3) BackupMIDIs zip file: Tunes Go once through the tune and usually at a speed that might even be faster than you would normally play it. As with the other MIDI files go through the tune as on the page and not necessarily with attention to proper order of parts when performed. 4) SFRCheatSheet.pdf file: A handy list of the tunes in the set in alpha order with the first bar or two of the tune shown. Great for jogging the memory. 5) SFR.abc file: All of the tunes in ABC format. |
